About our Club:
Wushu is a modern exhibition sport based on Chinese Traditional Martial Arts, created in the People's Republic of China.
The Ngee Ann Wushu Club is a fairly new club, training currently the 3 batch of members and releasing the first group of Alumni just this year, 2008.
Although the club is young, they have participated in several Wushu competitions and championships at both tertiary and national level, winning awards for various categories ranging from individual events to sparing or even group events. Furthermore, the team also consists of members who practice other genres of Wushu, like 'tai chi'.
The team trains diligently twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays at 6pm beside the Old Childcare area, occasionally organizing intensive training sessions especially during vacation periods to retain the training momentum, demonstrating their fervor for the martial art.
Moreover, besides practicing Wushu, the team learns to reveal discipline and team spirit developed through regular bonding sessions; seeking to uphold not only a passion for Wushu but a sense of belonging and attachment. This ensures a physically healthy lifestyle complimented by constant encouragement and emotional support.
It is definitely the club's aim to promote the martial art yet offer opportunity for achievement and self satisfaction in an enjoyable manner.
